Hey there pretty ladies! Danielle here (heyyyy).
One hot nail look you’ll want to rock this spring is the nude nail. This trend looks absolutely chic (especially on shorter nails) and is a quick and inexpensive way to update your look. Plus it works on every skin tone. The idea is to go with a shade close to your skin tone that has a beige undertone to it. Need some help? Read on for some of my shade suggestions. If you feel like you don’t see your exact skin tone match, go for the category closest to your skin.
If you’re medium skin to olive toned:

Try OPI for Sephora Nail Polish in Nonfat Soy Half Caff, Dior Vernis in Nude Chic, Essie Nail Polish in Mambo, Essie Nail Polish in A Lot of Shekels, Essie Nail Polish in Cool Lots, Essie Nail Polish in Cafe Forgot, Chanel Nail Color in Django, OPI Nail Polish inTickle My Francey.
If you’re light skin:

Try Essie Nail Polish in Mink Muffs, Rescue Beauty Lounge Nail Polish in Opaque Nude, Essie Nail Polish in Eternal Optimist, Essie Nail Polish in Cool Lots, Essie Nail Polish in Cafe Forgot, Essie Nail Polish in Sand of a Beach, OPI Nail Polish in Java Mauve-A, Chanel Nail Color in Inattendu, OPI Nail Polish in Country Khaki
If you’re dark skin:

Try Essie Nail Polish in Mink Muffs, Essie Nail Polish in Over the Knee, OPI Nail Polish in Over the Taupe, Chanel Nail Color in Particuliere, Avon Nail Polish in Nocturnal, OPI Nail Polish in Chocolate Mousse, OPI Nail Polish in Chocolate Shake-speare, Sephora by OPI Nail Polish in Metro Chic
Very deep chocolate skins try Sephora by OPI Nail Polish in In The Shadows, OPI Nail Polish in Mauving to Manitoba, OPI Nail Polish in I’m Fondue of You, OPI Nail Polish in Espresso Your Style, OPI Nail Polish in Can You Tapas This?, and OPI Nail Polish in YDKJ.
Will you be rocking the nude nail? Tell me in the comments :)

I love this blog by far my favorite!! I wear Chanel Particuliere and it is my favorite NAIL POLISH IN THE WORLD!! I want to get my nails manicured with it everyday!! I wish it was a lil cheaper but you get what you pay for. I am a light brown skin complextion and it fits me sooo well!

this is confusing to me if only for the following reason: you’ve split the whole race into light skin/dark skin, and iman is in the darker section. I dunno, because that makes me wonder where i fall because i’m of fair skin but perhaps not as light as your light skin section because i believe most of those ladies are mixed race. where would sanna lathan fall on this scale, i think my skin tone favours hers?

I have a dark complexion and I always wear nude colors, however I wear the lighter ones that were suggested for women with lighter complexions…hmmm.
I still look fabulous though.

I’m just a fan of pale pinks, and soft colors on my nail. I’ve never worn the colors that were recommended for my skin tone, but I’m willing to try them out .

@sumnsumn Don’t let the race (or mixed race as you put it) of the celebs pictured deter you—mainly because they’re just there as a guide–it’s skin color you want to look at. As I mentioned, go for a shade of “nude” nail polish that closely matches your skin tone. It’s tough to include every skin tone in these kind of posts (finding celebs who match the skin tones, then finding suitable pics of them to include in the post) and because so many people have their own take on what’s considered light and dark. Also, many of the nail polishes listed in each section can be used on a variety of tones within that “section” (hope that made sense).
Many of the shades in the “dark skin” section work well on tones that include the skin tone of Sanaa Lathan who you said closely matches your skin tone.
Hope this helps :)
