Alexander McQueen’s Final Collection presented yesterday in Paris at a discreet villa by the Seine. I, of course, was not in attendance, but the following pictures surfaced on New York Magazine:
McQueen played with regal baroque elements like brocade and jacquard, but added his signature futuristic spin by mixing in rough leather spiked boots and extraterrestrial mohawk feathered head pieces:
Red, green, gold, and black were the main colors of a line which was exceptional for its mastery and creativity. It is beyond sad that this will be the last.
According to the article, “Reporters watched the show in silence as McQueen’s assistants ‘choked back tears.‘”RIP Lee McQueen.

So sad—I was flipping through the March issue of Elle (printed prior to his suicide) and they had his birthdate (March 17) displayed on their calendar.

Wow, its really sad the a creative genius of his stature has passed on. But thankfully his beautiful designs and artistry live on. These pieces are so gorgeous they literally made my heart skip looking at them. These are brilliant!

All show stoppers, these pieces should be in a museum, to say that these are works of art is an understatement.
Thank you Mr. McQueen

No, seriously…OUTSTANDING pieces. From beginning to end, I was floored by the amazing patterns, gorgeous shoes, and stunning dresses. My heart has officially broken from the loss of such an amazing artist and designer.
