According to the website I’m not Obsessed, Lady Gaga recently said, “I would rather die than have my fans not see me in a pair of high heels…”

“…I’d never give up my wigs and hats for anything. You see legendary people taking out their trash, I think it’s destroying show-business.”

I think Gaga may have a point. Stars are in the public eye, so for the sake of their career sort of have a responsibility to look their best at every camera flash. Some, like Beyoncé, take their jobs seriously and manage to always be on point, even slipping on heels with pajama like pants after 6 hour flights:

Others…

…Not so much.
It boils down to dressing the part for your job.
I’m personally not a hip shaking singer, so would conversely die if I couldn’t wear flats. But if you’re a star, you better work!
Thoughts?

To each her own. If Beyonce or any other starlet dresses to the nines for a flight they’re going to be talked about and asked ‘does it take all of that?’ and if she looks a wreck she’s going to get dogged as well. So I’d rather be talked about for looking great than for looking a hot mess a la Britney Spears. WORK!

I’d rather look great in videos and on the red carpet. And look like anybody else, (not terrible cuz thats just not me) getting on a plane, going to the gym, or at the grocery store. I would not buy into the people idea that I should look like i’m at a photoshoot at all times. They’ll get use to it, and if they don’t, oh well. I wouldn’t want to feel trapped or pressure by my celebrity every second of everyday. Lady Gaga is still a new artist on her first album, One day she’s gonna want to hang out with her parent, or take a niece or nephew out for ice cream and she want her entourage around to help her walk in a pair of ridiculous shoes. The diff. is we probably won’t even notice her without all that on.

I think all celebrities should adopt this motto. it’s nothing like seeing a woman in some nice pumps, I hate flats but then again I don’t have to strut around in 5′ heels all day. I think woman in general should always look the part- men too. nothing wrong with wearing some heels to work. unless you’re working at McDonalds, etc

I actually think there is something refreshing when you see a celebrity looking more “normal” rather than red carpet or stage ready. Now don’t get me wrong, they should still look nice (a little lip gloss never hurt anyone), but who says you can’t look nice in a pair of cute flats or with a ponytail? You just have to do it the right way, not all sloppy. At the end of the day they are still people who deserve down time. There are stars who do casual cute very nice & get credit for beautiful faces sans a ton of makeup. Now I am however against looking a hot mess walking down the street – and that goes for all man kind. Celebrity or not, that is just wrong. Clean yourself up.

@ Drew Shane: Wow… I didn’t realize they only made flats for McDonald’s employees. There is such a thing as stylish flats. Do I love heels? Yes, but there are some moments when I do put on a cute pair of flats & believe it or not I don’t work in the fast food industry.

Meh… I get it….. wanting to always portray/maintain a glamourous, superstar image but everyone knows that everyone sh*ts & bleeds just like everyone else.
“…You see legendary people taking out their trash, I think it’s destroying show-business.”
*sigh* I think adopting this sort of thought is what’s destroying the compassion that ppl once had for one another (w/o tragic, natural Earth crisises). Ppl thinking that they are more than what they are, better than others when it’s the ppl who made you {famous}. Jesus Christ sat amongst the ppl, he cleaned the feet of his disciples. If Christ could do these things, I think Gaga could humble herself and take out her own trash every now & then.
I love when I see the most beautiful woman alive (IMO), Ms. Halle Berry in flats and not really dressed to the nines, grocery shopping and driving herself around. More celebs should take a clue and stop thinking too much of themselves.

every day is a celebration of being alive, and clothing is merely an extension of the beauty of the human body, so why not treat the streets like a red carpet, and wear what makes you feel your most beautiful every day.

Lady Gaga is short. She is 5 ft tall so of course she wears these 10″ heels to enhance her appearance.
