It’s more of an “inbetweenie” site, and I don’t mind seeing that. I give Franca Sozzani (Italian Vogue editor) some credit for doing this. Anna Wintour would never make this type of effort, and as an aside, I wonder who will be AW’s “curvy” profile for the April Shape Issue. If Mo’Nique wins an Oscar, she should be in the running, particularly in view of the fact that she lost 40 pounds and says she’s 14-16. They did Jill Scott at a size 16 a couple of years ago.

I agree with most of the comments. To make a special “curvy” edition is ridiculous. How many model type women do you see on any given day? One? Out of a hundred?

What is that supposed to mean? Do you mean fatter? Because that’s more accurate. No one needs to accept that.

I’m not against curvy, voluptuous (sp?) women at all. I wish I had curves in the right place. This skinny girl is jealous!

I am against the misuse of these words to make obesity the new healthy.

I’m over it already! I have curves and am not model thin, but I’m not in the full-on Lane Bryant shopping size at the moment… but I have been in the past. I’ve always considered myself a fashionable person and I know how to camouflage my “problem” areas. When Vogue singles out “curvy” women and relegates us to a “special” website, it’s like saying there’s no way your could be fashionable enough to be in the pages of Vogue… so we’ll just throw you over here on this affiliate site. Newsflash! Women are getting curvier by the day and designers need to recognize that and learn how to design for us all, not relegate us to some offshoot website. I get what Italian Vogue is TRYING to do. But wouldn’t it be better to just merge it all and include REAL women of ALL shapes and sizes in their “normal” pages and online?

crystal renn is most definitely curvy and she is absolutely gorgeous. i love that they are going in this direction because i find these models to be much more beautiful than the sickly ones they usually have. curvy girls just look healthier.. their face glows more; they just look lovely!

Wow … big move. I think fashion is more open to being diverse in terms of color than it is in terms of size, so this is definitely a big step.
