Diane von Furstenberg held her show on Valentine’s Day, and boy was there a lot to love!

Tapping into her girly side, the veteran designer paraded frilly, coquettish dresses and overtly feminine skirts down a sexy liquid black catwalk. Layers of tulle and piles of chiffon in whisper pink and light gray played beside structured blazers boasting embellished sequins and metallic gold thread.

Unlike most designers who have chosen to stick to basic black in light of the financial crisis, Furstenberg mixed fashion and fun in bright colored celery turtlenecks, patterned skirts, and oversized embellished off shoulder sweaters.

In addition to the ravishing clothes, DVF’s show was one of the most diverse I’ve seen so far.
Sessilee Lopez, Chanel Iman, Arlenis Pena, Rose Cordero, Gracie Carvalho, Aminata Niaria, Joan Smalls, Jeneil Williams, and more made cameos in the strong, sultry show.

Furstenberg stuck to her design sensibility while continuing to evolve to reflect the current times.
Simply lovely.

Actually a lot of the shows have been pretty diverse Custo Barcelona, Miss J was even in Zac Posen’s show. The Arise African collective show of course had black, asian european, Naomi’s Haiti for relief show. Rachel Roy’s. All the shows i’ve seen so far had plenty of diversity .

Yeah…I wasn’t saying the shows in general weren’t diverse or making any suggestion that other designers weren’t including models of color. As I said, it was one of the most diverse shows I’ve seen thus far and I loved it.

It’s about time we’ve seen some color! Literally and figuratively. It took DVF to show them what’s really up this season.

I know what you were implying I was just stating my views of the shows.
