Someone royally pissed Kanye off this time!

According to a deleted post on this blog, Kanye seems to think us bloggers spend more time writing about fashion than living it. He says:
“IT’S FUNNY TO ME WHEN FASHION BLOGGERS DOWN OUR OUTFITS AND THEN SUPER JOCK OUTLANDISH SH*T ON THE RUNWAY BUT THEN THEY DRESS MAD PRUDE AND DON’T LIVE FASHION. WE LIVE IT MAN. F*CK THAT, WE LIVE IT!!! WE LIVE IT SO HARD PEOPLE LIVE THROUGH US! WE REPRESENT YOUR INNER SPIRIT!! THE CHILD IN US ALL, THE BRUTAL HONESTY, THE NAIVETY, THE BRAVE WARRIOR, THE ADRENALINE THAT ALLOWS A MOTHER TO LIFT A CAR IF HER CHILD WAS TRAPPED UNDER IT! REMEMBER, THERE WAS A TIME WHEN EVERYBODY DISSED MICHAEL JACKSON EVERY CHANCE THEY COULD. IMAGINE THE PRESSURE OF BEING A TRUE ICON. VERY FEW HUMAN BEINGS ARE STRONG ENOUGH TO TAKE CONSTANT HATE!!! IF WE DON’T DO WHAT YOU FEEL IS THE SH*T, YOU BEAT US UP VERBALLY AND MENTALLY, LIKE A CATHOLIC SCHOOL TEACHER BEATING A CREATIVE STUDENT INTO SUBMISSION. I CAN HEAR YOU SCREAMING ‘COLOR INSIDE THE LINES!!!’ WELL F*CK YOUR COLORING BOOK, COLOR BY NUMBERS APPROACH TO LIFE. AT THE END OF THE DAY WHO ARE WE HURTING??? OH “THE NEW BLACK???” SINCE BARACK IS PRESIDENT BLACKS DON’T LIKE FUR COATS, RED LEATHER, AND FRIED CHICKEN ANY MORE?”
Kanye clearly doesn’t read the Fashion Bomb, who named him most Fashionable Male of 2009 and supports and features him almost on a daily basis!
Seriously guys, celebrities seem to only be drawn to the negativity! Instead of focusing on those who support them, they lash out on all of us because of the minority who don’t?
And in response, I say: All bloggers are not the same. You don’t have to dress outlandishly or wear the latest $5,000 Louis Vuitton mink bum bag to be stylish (there’s chic in subtlety). People contribute to fashion in different ways through different mediums, and none are necessarily better or worse than the other. And as Chanel said, “Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” We all live fashion.

*And for the record, the Fashion Bomb loves Kanye and supports all types of creative, artistic expression.

in a way he is so right.

I think it’s a few bad bloggers who give other bloggers a bad name. He should thank some of them for giving him publicity and shine to his new projects.

Kanye, I love you but…you have GOT to get your shit together. Stop buggin’ out DUDE! YOU HAVE THE WORLD!!! Stop letting these lil comments here and there get to you! YOU’RE not supposed to give a F*ck! Seeing you in outlandish or daring clothing already sends the message that you don’t really care what people think so keep going with that attitude. (When he lashes out it just seems like he’s just this lil insecure lil boy.)
February 1, 2010 4:15 pm
That was such a waist of a post, why did he put so much energy into that.
I feel like I’m the only one who thinks Kanye West is so insecure and sensitive.
February 1, 2010 4:18 pm
@ Laurie – i SO agree! granted, blogs like TFB do their bit in keeping Kanye on our minds but while we’re all preaching the gospel of high fashion and oohing and aaahing over all things outlandish, we simultaneously get perturbed by anything out of the ordinary or anyone who dares to step outside the box. we’re sending out mixed signals is what that is. now, i’m not saying i endorse everything kanye has done or will ever do, but he DOES have a point and at least he practices what he preaches and lives what he posts.

you are absolutely correct-but i do feel him in some aspects- you read these blogs- and i cant stand to see someone brutaly break down someone’s personal style and they take no risks- do not live fashion nor know or study it-
just because you post a hot shoe doesnt make you a fashion blogger- thats why i can appreociate blogs like yours and fashionista (just to name a few)- who not only embrace fashion but also teach it- experiece it- live it. and i you are right noone are millionaires and can afford to play dress up- but everyone has a style on a HM budget- but you should email ye your link and let him take a look at your site-
i wouldnt take offense to his rant- because your site is clearly not the ones he is referring to. ;)

I have to disagree with Kanye on this one. What Kanye is failing to understand is we, fashion novices and experts alike, aren’t going to love all of his style choices. No matter if he ‘lives’ fashion or not. I usually support him and am intrigued by his style. However, some of the fashion choices by him and Amber are clearly just for attention.

The only thing that annoyed me about this rant is Kanye’s and other celebrities not understanding that all Bloggers are not the same. By writing this post and grouping all Bloggers together he has proved his ignorance. Why doesn’t he just write that he hates all writers, and the entire media? It just goes to show how new Blogging is but also how powerful it is. If some Blogger got Kanye’s attention for him to write this, then Bloggers are on the right track. Hopefully, in the next few years celebs will learn that Blogging is here to stay and we will have some sort of amends. FYI: I’m a Blogger but music not fashion.

Ye’s rant clearly has more to do with eco-socio/race issues than fashion bloggers.
He has been on this agenda for a minute. The “bush hates blck people comment”,
The swift ambush to up Beyonce….ect. Personally, I think he is sayn
That black people r oft stereotyped but we rep the FIRE in fashion-
Cuz we rep the ghetto….we came from nothing to something…..like stripper
Turned high fashion model Amber Rose. There is no “new” black. Its always in style.
Personally…..race aside, I think Kanye is the sh*t. He transcending just spittin”
About labels to designing their sh*ts. WTF! Go yeezy.

Great perspective, Claire!
I totally agree. There are countless bloggers who praise Ye’s fashion sense, and I think it is his insecurities that cause him to focus on the negative. We do it all the time. 10 guys can tell you you’re hot– then that one tells you you’re fat– and *POOF* you’re depressed.
Well he’s not the average joe, he’s a superstar, and being such, he should have a tougher-skin. It’s part of the territory. It’s ridiculous. Everyone who’s famous gets ridiculed– why do they think they are so worshipped? So they can be torn down, of course! It’s messed up, but that’s the reality. He should feel blessed for the thousands upon thousands of people (including bloggers) who co-sign him religiously and unconditionally. Many in his position dont have that!

I understand where he comes from, but I don’t think he’s talkin about your blog. There are A LOT of fashion blogs, and also different types of fashion blogs, but it seems he speakin out towards white fashion bloggers (sorry to say), that may not be as taken or impressed by Amber’s look, Kanye’s vocal manner, and/or their love of fur.
There are a few blogs that I think are successful b/c they choose to showcase different styles, and different looks, whether it be images of themselves or celebs. But there are a few that act like they the second coming of Anna Wintour, and feel that b/c they have a blog they can decimate other people, and theirs is the only opinion that matters. And while those kinds may have many followers, I find it’s the ones that leave the cattiness to the gossip blogs that come off the best.

Good point Bee. White bloggers HATE on Kanye HARD. Like you should read the comments on some of them. Just hate, hate, hate. I guess it’s hard to ignore the more mainstream, but it’s like….Kanye came from the margins, he should seek his support in the margins not in the mainstream. The mainstream will never accept him not matter how many Haute Couture shows he goes to. He’s rich, yes, and he should be happy with his accomplishments and his freedom…and stop looking for validation amongst a people who will *never* give it to him. They won’t let him be great, ever. Get over it and focus on your fans, not you detractors.

Kanye’s antics are so boring now.
February 2, 2010 12:38 pm
well people don’t like grown men stealing the spotlight from little girls either. suck it up and press on!
February 2, 2010 1:12 pm
I hadn’t read the “hateful” blogs about Kanye so I guess I don’t have everything in perspective but I hear far more about him bitching about everything vs all the bad venom that is spewed at him.
I know he’s not crazy but sheesh the most I heard about him is that PETA might be getting in that ass and I laughed cos PETA is crazy. I don’t take them seriously when they try to malign someone but I always hear about Kanye going off again and again and again.
Whatever.
February 2, 2010 1:55 pm
I guess he didn’t hear Common when he said “If I don’t like it, I don’t like it. That don’t mean that I’m hating”. Everybody isn’t going to agree with his style choices, which whether he admits it or not is sometimes tacky, and the choice of his cohort trashy. Everybody is trying so hard to be SO different that it’s just out there. Not even making a fashion statement but just doing it to get attention. Kanye, I’m black and I don’t like fur and leather makes me hot. Im not a PETA activist, I just prefer cotton, nylon, and linen. To each their own, but you need to get over yourself and suck it up.

This is my take on yet another Kayne outburst. People have the freedom to blog whether its good or bad. I can understand how one can feel on a daily basis from these hurtful comments but get over it. Kayne is a celebrity this is a part of the game. Celebs have money, power and the ALL WORLD. Kayne is talking out his ass worrying about fashion bloggers when people in Haiti don’t even have clothes and U.S. citizens don’t even have jobs or homes. I just believe everyone has a right to give their 2cents, I just don’t understand why HE is taking fashion bloggers so seriously. Don’t get me wrong, I am a fashion student, daughter of a talented seamstress and fashion is my life but I AM beautiful, cultural and intelligent. I could rule the world wearing a paper bag. I am just really sick of KAYNE and all these celebrities that claim LIFE IS SO HARD when people are struggling everyday just to make end’s meat.

For the record, the reason why Kanye was bugging that much was because after The SARTORIALIST posted a picture of him on his blog… people went crazy ( over 400 comments) saying how he is no good and has no place on the blog. The sartorialist himself answered to those hatred comments on kanye blog to say that he respect the guy and to leave him alone.
